As students presented their art presentations, the rest of the class worked on this:

Also - NEXT WEEK IS WORLD LANGUAGE WEEK! Listen for the SAT Word of the Day each day in Spanish! Write the word of the day down each day (is Spanish) and at the end of the week submit the list with your first and last name so that you will be entered into a drawing for a prize!!!

el 26/27 de febrero

Interpersonals today! Students worked in groups of 2's and 3's to describe and critique artwork created by their fellow classmates.

The rest of class was devoted to working on the presentational task, which is due next class.

**THE PRESENTATION MUST BE UPLOADED TO MOODLE BY YOUR CLASSTIME THURSDAY (A DAY) / FRIDAY (B DAY).

el 21/24 de febrero

We took a few minutes at the beginning of class to go over our recent grammar quizzes.

Students took the art quiz/Interpretive quiz (it's all one test!)

Finally, students signed up for the artwork they will present next Thursday/Friday. *Be sure to come in to sign up for an artwork if you were absent! You will have most of next class to work on it.

el 19/20 de febrero

Today we practiced saber/conocer, demonstrative adjectives/pronouns (este, ese, aquel, etc.) and vocabulary before taking the QUIZ.

After the quiz we discussed the expectations for the Interpersonal. (Please pick up a rubric for the Interpersonal task from me if you were absent.)

Students then tried to identify different artworks based on their knowledge of the artists' styles. (This Power Point is a great practice for the upcoming art quiz and can be found on MOODLE!)

Finally, the Presentational task rubric was passed out. We will go through this more next class. (Please pick up a rubric from me if you were absent.)

*Students turned in their original artwork that was assigned last class.

el 14/17 de febrero

Today we took notes on Picasso (AC p. 10 - Notes on Moodle) and then we made our own works of art in Picasso's style through using the website www.picassohead.com. (AC p. 19) We then critiqued our own work of art and another student's work of art, then compared the two works of art. (AC p. 20).

The assignment for next class is to create an original work of art based on the styles of one of the artists we have studied. (Pick up handout with specific directions from me.) This is to be an original, NOT a copy of the artist's own works.

Also note: The ART / ARTIST / MUSEUM quiz has been moved UP to February 20/21. 

Tarea:

1. Finish AC p. 20 (if you did not complete it in class)
2. Study for quiz on Demonstrative adjectives (este, ese, aquel), Saber / Conocer and vocabulary (refer to the vocabulary section on Moodle 5)
3. Create your original work of art (per handout's instructions)

el 12/13 de febrero

Today we practiced using saber and conocer as well as demonstrative adjectives through several partner activities.

We then did a practice quiz on the four artists we have studied so far, as well as a listening activity on four works of art we have not studied. Students tried to discern which work of art that was being described by listening to a description in Spanish. (The practice quiz is AC p. 23)

el 10/11 de febrero

After questions of the day and drawing/describing Miró paintings we reviewed verbs like gustar. We played Bingo Humano.

We then took notes on Miró (AC p. 8 - Notes on Moodle).

We reviewed demonstrative adjectives.

We then took notes Saber/Conocer in the Grammar packet (p. 7.3 - Notes on Moodle.)

el 6/7 de febrero

Today we took time to critique different paintings by El Greco and Dalií. Then we compared our answers to other students who critiqued the same painting.

Students took a quick quiz on Dalií and El Greco...testing on what they remembered about each artist (no grade taken, just practice!)

We then took notes on Diego Velázquez (AC p. 7 - notes on Moodle.)

We looked over Moodle 2 and then did some practice with gustar type verbs.

Finally we took notes on Demonstrative Adjectives (G. U7.2 - notes on Moodle.)

el. 4/5 de febrero

Today we reviewed the two museums by completing the activity on page 11 of Actividades y Cultura.

We practiced listening and drawing a painting by El Greco. Then the students described works by Dalí to each other.

We took notes on Dalí  (Notes on Moodle - AC p. 6)and watched a portion of his movie with Walt Disney called "Destino" as well as a part of his movie, "A Soft Self-Portrait". (Notes on Moodle)

We took grammar notes (Unit 7 p. 4-5) on verbs like gustar. (Notes on Moodle)
