Happy first day back from break!

Today we worked on learning Unidad 6 vocabulary.
We then added the regular preterit notes to our grammar folder before doing a quick preterit review.
We talked about what we did during our vacations in preparation for this unit's interpersonal.
Finally, we took notes on La Costa del Sol (AC p. 20).

Today students completed their Presentational task paragraph in class. *If you are absent be sure to set up a time to make this up!
After the paragraph we learned more about the novel Don Quixote, and read four sections from the novel. Students completed pages 4, 5 and 7 from the yellow Don Quixote packet. (If you are absent be sure to pick up a reading from me and complete these 3 pages in the packet!)

We practice/reviewed for the quiz using conjugeumos.com activities before taking the preterit quiz.
Then we practiced making high proficiency sentences in small groups to practice for the paragraph presentational task this Wednesday/Thursday.
We then started learning about Don Quixote de la Mancha, the most famous novel to come out of Spain, by Miguel de Cervantes.

In class we practiced with the preterit tense with the activities Puntos and a preterit worksheet. Then we filled out a sheet that lists words that indicate that the preterit will be used (words like yesterday, last week, last year, etc.)
We then incorporated the preterit tense and these time expressions into a paragraph about chores based on several pictures. This is a practice activity for the presentational task that will take place next Wednesday/Thursday. *If you are going to be gone early for break, please be sure to do this paragraph BEFORE you leave!

Today we practiced with a listening activity and students were able to pick their challenge level to decipher what chores the speaker liked to do, did not like to do, and wanted to hire a 'chacha' to do.
Then we reviewed AC pgs. 4/5 before taking the Interpretive Task. You will need to make up this task if you are absent!
Then we played LoterÃa to review the preterit tense.

We finished up presentations from the students who were absent last class. Then we took a quick survey to find out how often we did certain chores in our homes. We will use these results to compare how often students in Waunakee do chores to how often students in Valladolid, Spain do chores.
